Lots of people have celebrity photo albums but mine is a little different. It's pictures of me taken by celebrities. Each photo comes with a unique story recounting the details about that particular brush with fame—where we were, what was said, and how that photo came to be.

For as long as I can remember, the Universe has been tossing famous people in my direction. Twenty-five years ago I decided to take advantage of these fortuitous opportunities, but the traditional fan/famous person exchange didn't interest me at all. It was too predictable and stale. I wanted to breathe some life into these chance encounters and see how a celebrity would react when I asked them to take a picture of me.

-
They had to take the picture—actually hold the camera and press the shutter button.
-
I had to be in it somehow.
-
The photo had to have a PG rating.
-
This had to be a spontaneous encounter. No hunting the stars.
-
The only request I could ask of the celebrity is if they would take my picture. I couldn't say or ask for anything they might normally hear from a fan.
-
Once I pitch the idea, they get an entry. Reporting on their actions is fair game.

What started as an impromptu experiment has become an exciting personal hobby. I never imagined I'd be entertaining myself with this for decades but as it turns out, asking unsuspecting celebrities to take my picture can be incredibly fun.
